Book Club Wiki

For about a year now, Wikia Book Club has hosted monthly readings of many great books, bringing readers and fans closer to the authors they love as well as spotlighting the awesome communities around books around Wikia.

One thing that we’ve noticed is that fangirls and fanboys of Young Adult books have really rallied around the series and authors they love, so we wanted to focus our Book Club even more on those fandoms and introducing YA readers to new books to love. So starting in April, we’re evolving Wikia Book Club to become YA Society Reads!

If you’ve been active with any of our Book Clubs, you’ll recognize the same book discussions and fantasy casting events.

So here’s what’s new:

1. Sign up, get involved and win!

We want our monthly reading clubs to feel like a real club. To help us build a real club, we’re asking all of you to actually sign up. Go here to fill in your info, telling us about yourself and your interests. Most exciting, once you’re signed up, you can WIN:

  • Once a month, we’ll draw a name to receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card (to buy books with, of course)!
  • And every three months, we’ll pick one lucky member to receive an Amazon Kindle!

For more reasons for why you should sign up, check out the sign up page!

2. New ways to collaborate on social

YA Society has a new Twitter account, where we’ll be tweeting all the latest from our favorite authors and publishers, as well anything you guys are creating or talking about on the wikia. Also follow us to share your favorite man crushes (#mcm), women crushes (#wcw), and feels moments (#feelsfridays). We may even do some author Twitter chats there as well!

Wikia YA Society is also on Tumblr where we’ll be doing fun giveaways, fan art contests, and the same themed days as Twitter.

3. Stay up to date on events and releases

We’ll also keep an ongoing calendar of the latest happening with new book releases, events and readings with your favorite authors, and more.

4. Get promoted

Are you working to get a Young Adult book community off the ground? Let us know! We’ll help promote you to other members.

So tell us what you think!  Give us your suggestions for what you’d like to see on YA Society Reads and for what we should read. Leave your ideas here in the comments, or make suggestions for books to read on this forum thread.

Happy reading!
